Mike’s ramp
Comme tout vieux skateboarder qui prétend avoir déjà eu un peu de talent, il m’arrive de “claimer” des trucs.
Genre que lorsque je shoot des photos avec un kid et il land pas son truc, il peut m’arriver de commencer à talker de la marde et parfois je peu dire kek chose comme: “yo dude, si j’avais encore 20 ans, je ferais frontside crook la dessus”.
Et il m’arrive de vraiment croire que je pourrais le faire ce fucking front crook! haha!
Mais lorsqu’ont parle de rampes, au dessus de 5 pieds, mon courage prend le bord. Ajoutes à ça des transitions en métal avec un flat en béton et je suis bien chilleux derriere mon kodak.
Dimanche dernier je suis allé chez Mike Lavoie pour la première fois. Man! Mike a le meilleur set up. Terrain immense, pas de voisins, des cheveaux, une rampe sous les arbres. Wow.
Et ni Mike ni sa femme Francine étaient à la maison! “Yeah you can come skate anytime” qu’ils ont dit. Merci Mike et merci Francine!!!

Mettons que j’ai mes knee pads pis que je skate la rampe…bin si je pogne 1 slam comme Michel Poulin, that’s it, je suis done. Pas Michel. Dimanche, il a landé un invert, il a évité la mort 5-6 fois et en fin de journée, après 4-5 run à skater tout seul, il a demandé: “yo, est ce que Conor vient toujours? Ont a besoin de young blood ici” !!!! Je sais pas si y’a un nom spécial pour ce truc? Nose grab to fakie.

Bob’s knee sucks even worst now; heal old man Bobby. Poulin falls so hard, I couldn’t even take one of those slams. It looks like I’m a wimp.
Dan, I feel the opposite way, a ramp under 4 feet scares the crap out of me. I know I’m going to slam hard on it. Big walls allows smoother bails. I just wish I got to skate some bigger walls more often. Man was I lost skating a halfpipe though. It was a fun day even though Dan only took one run.

Mikes ramp is the best, why didn’t we skate that all summer again ? next step : build stairs…runnig up Bob style is not an option.

Poulin, the ramp only got finished a couple of months ago. There is no way I’m biking out there to skate Mike’s ramp. The bike ride to skate the Bitter Bowl was only worth it because my friends were leaving.
